The fine print, in plain words.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and her.hockey ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the her.hockey website, the fit-guidance tools, the newsletter, the feedback widget, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept, do not use the Service. The Short Version above is operative and controls in case of conflict with anything below.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The fit guide is intended for adults purchasing or researching skates; the youth path is intended to be filled in by a parent or guardian on a child's behalf.

her.hockey is an independent editorial property that publishes fit guidance, brand explainers, and gear coverage focused on women's ice hockey. We are not a retailer. We do not sell, ship, fit, or service any product. We link to third-party retailers, some of whom we have affiliate relationships with, who actually sell the gear. The fit-guide algorithm produces recommendations based on your inputs combined with public anatomical research, manufacturer-published specs, and the operator's prior in-person fitting experience. The output is informational guidance, not a professional fitting service.

Recommendations are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Skates and protective equipment must be tried on, flexed, and ideally heat-baked or punched-out before you can know whether they truly fit you. Foot anatomy is highly individual; manufacturers change lasts and shells without notice; retailers carry varying inventory of widths and sizes. her.hockey is not a substitute for an in-person fitting at a qualified pro shop. If a skate is wrong for you, contact the retailer that sold it to you about returns or exchanges within their return window.

Anything we say about feet, ankles, knees, hips, posture, padding, or injury context is general fitting information and is not medical advice. Conditions including but not limited to bunions, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, post-surgical rehab, neuropathy, fractures, or chronic pain require evaluation by a podiatrist, sports-medicine physician, or other licensed healthcare professional. Do not rely on her.hockey for diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation guidance. If a skate is causing pain, stop wearing it and see a professional.

In compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 Endorsement Guides, we disclose that her.hockey participates in affiliate programs. As of the effective date, those programs include:

• Skimlinks — site script ID 302327X1790321, network monetization covering Pure Hockey, Hockey Monkey, Ice Warehouse, SidelineSwap, and other affiliated retailers.
• Amazon Associates — store ID herhockey-20. As an Amazon Associate, her.hockey earns from qualifying purchases.

We may earn a commission when you click an outbound retailer link and complete a purchase. The commission does not change your price as a buyer and never influences which gear we recommend. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or brand-funded content in exchange for ranking. If we ever do, it will be clearly labeled as such.

A. Our content

All site content — including text, design, photography (other than user-submitted or properly attributed Creative Commons photos), the fit algorithm, scoring tables, brand explainers, illustrations, and the her.hockey wordmark and h+foot mark — is owned by her.hockey or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view, print, and download the content for personal, non-commercial use. Republishing, scraping for republication, training AI models on, or commercially redistributing the content without our written permission is prohibited.

B. Third-party content

Photos credited to Lorie Shaull (Minnesota Whitecaps), MikeVitale (PWHL Minnesota Frost), and other Creative Commons contributors are used under their respective CC BY-SA 4.0 (or noted) licenses. Brand names, logos, and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here for identification and editorial reference only.

C. User submissions

If you submit photos, comments, or other content to her.hockey (for example via [email protected] or the feedback widget), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute the submission on her.hockey and in related editorial contexts (with credit where attribution is provided). You retain ownership of your submission. You represent that you own or have permission to license the submission and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or republish her.hockey content for commercial purposes without permission.
• Reverse-engineer the fit algorithm and rebrand it as your own product.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or harassing content via the feedback widget or any contact channel.
• Submit automated form submissions or use bots to interact with the Service.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related infrastructure without prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or any servers or networks connected to it.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.

We reserve the right to block access from any IP, user agent, or pattern that we determine, in good faith, is abusive.

Outbound retailer links and other external links open third-party websites with their own terms and privacy policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, policies, products, services, or practices of any third-party site. Your interactions with third-party sites (including any purchase you make) are solely between you and the third party.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HER.HOCKEY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

her.hockey does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error- free, secure, or that any defect will be corrected; that the recommendations will produce a comfortable, performant, or durable fit for your specific anatomy or use case; or that the third-party retailers we link to will fulfill any order, ship on time, accept returns, or be in business at any given time.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL HER.HOCKEY, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY RECOMMENDATIONS PROVIDED THROUGH IT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF HER.HOCKEY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, and in any event will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) in the aggregate.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless her.hockey, its operators, contributors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (i) your access to or use of the Service; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, publicity, or privacy right; or (iv) any user submission you provide.

If you believe content on her.hockey infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with the subject line DMCA NOTICE including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (2) identification of the material on her.hockey that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it; (3) your contact information (name, address, telephone, email); (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; (6) your physical or electronic signature.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any unresolved dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date in the header reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged with a banner on the site for at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and her.hockey regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
